Aerobiz for Genesis

Image: MobyGames

Aerobiz

Capitalism

Genre: strategy - 4x

Publisher: Koei

Year: 1992

System: Genesis

Gameplay Score: 3

Gameplay Notes:

Just as charming as the SNES version. Fairly simple to understand but there are quite a few things to check on. Objective is to open routes that make money. Other things to keep track of are budgets for maintenance, customer service, and advertising. Gotta watch your cash flow Menuing is ok and there are options for speeding up text speed and turning off music. I got sucked in and could see playing it for much longer than I did. I really wish the windows were a bit more obvious when screen was ready to dismiss. Too often I wound up closing a menu and then had to go thru 15 seconds to clicks before I could get back to where I had been.

Level Design Score: 3

Level Design Notes:

Not sure what a level even would be in this game, but it seems fairly well designed. You do a bunch of stuff and then end your turn which advances the timeframe by 3 months.

Theme Score: 3

Theme Notes:

Surprisingly engrossing theme. Capitalism is fun kids

Art Style Score: 3

Art Style Notes:

Clean graphics with good use of color to show menus, buttons, and such. A number of little animations or pictures to illustrate some event. Some go on for too long tho.

Audio Score: 2

Audio Notes:

Music gets old real fast. Without it, however, there's not much personality.

Overall Score: 58
