Gameplay

The ball has weird physics. It doesn't bounce high enough and either moves more quickly or much slower than you expect. Makes it really hard it hit the ball. Oh and the hit detection is atrocious on top of all that. Maybe it's more one than the other but I found it incredibly difficult to hit the ball.
The computer hits everything so even if you hit it, it's only a matter of time before you goof up.
I played a whole set and only managed to score 3 points. Just a bit frustrating, yaknow?

Level Design

Three modes: Practice, Exhibition, and Tournament. The weird thing is that once you've picked one there's no going back. If, for example, you pick Practice and get tired of that you can't exit back to the main menu. You have to RESET THE CONSOLE to get back there. Brilliant.
Anyway the modes are ok. You can play doubles and any number of sets you'd like.

Theme

Andre Agassi isn't my favorite athlete but his presence amounts to just the title screen. Oddly his stats are pedestrian compared to the other playable characters. You'd think he'd pad his own stats.
As a tennis game this is presented ok albeit with some horrible sounds which we'll get to.

Art Style

The sprites are drawn to look as real as possible but just hit that uncanny valley problem. They move a bit too quickly to show proper animations so while they look ok in a screenshot, they aren't as impressive in motion. Also the ball experiences wild scaling such that it's as big as your head when it gets to you. This makes it even harder to hit it since it doesn't feel connected to the rest of the court.

Audio

The music sounds like it was pulled from an 80s sitcom. In fact, it reminds me of the little track that plays in Seinfeld when they transitioned between scenes. Yaknow the one with popping and finger snapping and whatever. It just sounds stupid tbh. Also the game sounds are pretty annoying. The ball bounce is too loud and harsh and it plays about 10 times after each volley ends. It's soooo irritating
