Bass Masters Classic for SNES

Bass Masters Classic

About as fun as a trapdoor on a canoe

Genre: sports - fishing

Publisher: Malibu

Year: 1994

System: SNES

Gameplay Score: 0

Gameplay Notes:

It took a whole bunch of save states shenanigans to hook a fishy and even more to reel it in. This is nigh unplayable. The view is weird - rather than top down it's from the perspective of the boat looking at the fish being reeled in. Very strange perspective

Level Design Score: 1

Level Design Notes:

No structure that I can divine. Just cast your lure into any spot in the lake and reel it in and hope you see a fish. Whatever

Theme Score: 0

Theme Notes:

It's fishing. And this one doubles down on the hill billy caricatures.

Art Style Score: 1

Art Style Notes:

Decent graphics but man the artwork is awful. The player models for yourself and the NPCs looks like on elf those early PC games crossed with character models from a Rob Zombie flick.

Audio Score: 0

Audio Notes:

The hill billiest hill billy music I've heard since watching Emmet Other's Jug Band Christmas as a kid. Holy crap this game has horrible music. At least it can be turned off but sheeeeooot is it awful.

Overall Score: 7
