Bass Masters Classic for SNES
Review #43
Bass Masters Classic
About as fun as a trapdoor on a canoe
Gameplay
It took a whole bunch of save states shenanigans to hook a fishy and even more to reel it in. This is nigh unplayable.
The view is weird - rather than top down it's from the perspective of the boat looking at the fish being reeled in. Very strange perspective
Level Design
No structure that I can divine. Just cast your lure into any spot in the lake and reel it in and hope you see a fish. Whatever
Theme
It's fishing. And this one doubles down on the hill billy caricatures.
Art Style
Decent graphics but man the artwork is awful. The player models for yourself and the NPCs looks like on elf those early PC games crossed with character models from a Rob Zombie flick.
Audio
The hill billiest hill billy music I've heard since watching Emmet Other's Jug Band Christmas as a kid. Holy crap this game has horrible music. At least it can be turned off but sheeeeooot is it awful.
