Berenstain Bears' Camping Adventure
"Bear"ly playableGenre: action - platform
Publisher: Sega
Year: 1993
System: Genesis
Gameplay Score: 3
Gameplay Notes:
Somewhat floaty but not half bad. Platforming is decent Jump and collect stuff but ultimately just get to the end and rack up points for collecting. Takes a ton of hits before you die and there's no real penalty for death.
Level Design Score: 1
Level Design Notes:
Levels are all about the same and there's only 5. You can clear the game in 10 minutes.
Theme Score: 2
Theme Notes:
Licenced game based on the books, but sending Sister and Brother into harm's way doesn't jive with the books. It's just a generic and simple platformer with these characters dropped in.
Art Style Score: 3
Art Style Notes:
Not bad. Good color but only a couple frames of animation on the sprites. Backgrounds are simple and unbusy like so many other licensed western dev games. Looks like an early SNES game.
Audio Score: 1
Audio Notes:
Music is simple and forgettable. Sounds effects, especially jumping get old real fast.
Overall Score: 45
