Gameplay

Can't move and attack at the same time.
Objective is to find the exit as quickly as possible.
Lose health over time. Collect beer kegs to recover some health.
Classic Gauntlet formula. Enemies pour out of generators so break those. Some walls are breakable. Collect loot.
Has a "one more level" addictiveness to it.

Level Design

Some people might praise the level design but I find it mostly frustrating. You wander and break walls and hit tiles which open a door somewhere on the level which you have to go find. It felt almost like a series of procedurally generated maps.
Arcade and quest modes. I found the quest mode to be very frustrating but had a great time in arcade.

Theme

Looks, feels, and plays like an antique. Doesn't scream 16 bit or even "play me". Fun game but nothing about it draws positive attention.

Art Style

Looks like a 1983 arcade game. Colors are majorly washed out or pastel. Big change from the dark hues of most Genesis games.
Has a distinctive art style but again just looks archaic.

Audio

The iconic sound effects are fun, but only for nostalgic reasons. The oof noise is particularly fun. The music is excellent although it never stops and plays incessantly. It's a nice tune but seemingly the only one in the entire game.
