Nolan Ryan's Baseball for SNES

Image: MobyGames

Nolan Ryan's Baseball

Seven no-hitters. 4,000 strikeouts. One mediocre SNES game

Genre: sports - baseball

Publisher: Romstar

Year: 1992

System: SNES

Gameplay Score: 2

Gameplay Notes:

Extremely fast gameplay Hard to hit the ball hard. It rarely leaves the infield Hilariously bad AI. Only one fielder chases after a ball at a time so a slow roller out of the infield might be chased by an infielder deep into the infield. Pretty standard baseball controls. There's something to be said for familiar and understandable.

Level Design Score: 3

Level Design Notes:

Exhibition and season modes

Theme Score: 2

Theme Notes:

Barebones baseball game. Other than his name in the title and his picture on the title screen, this doesn't look like a US player licensed game. It's just a japanese baseball game.

Art Style Score: 2

Art Style Notes:

Standard art style for a japanese baseball game. Chibi characters with tiny sprites on the fielding view. NES++ graphics

Audio Score: 3

Audio Notes:

It's fine

Overall Score: 47
