Gameplay

Attack, jump, and rocket. The rocket move doesn't have to be charged up like in the SNES game and is much more easy to use.
However, the main attack is not a projectile like the first RKA or Sparkster on SNES. Instead isn't a sword slash with very limited attack range. So the rocket is now the primary attack.
The game moves rather slowly and gets bogged down by slowdown frequently.
Has a definite Treasure vibe to it.

Level Design

Why is the second or third stage of every Konami game on a train?
This one has one of the slowest autoscrollers I've ever played.
Some truly bizarre levels like level 3 which is a baffling set of tubes which are a pain to get thru. It's all trial and error.
Level 4 is a huge mech reminiscent of Goemon 2 or Batman Ninja. Very funny and unique stuff. Not all of it is particularly fun but it's unique and compelling to say the least.

Theme

Fun mascot. You have to save the girl.
Lots of humor infused, although the animation isn't as good as Gunstar Heroes.

Art Style

Graphics are good but are a step below other Konami games of this era like TMNT, Contra, or Castlevania Bloodlines. The pixel art seems more busy than its prequel. Sprites are good but not great. Something about the main character just looks off, like he's too skinny or something.
Bosses look good with many featuring segmented bodies made of many ball sprites.
Massive slowdown at times.
Some nice parallax and other effects but again the game bogs down when the good stuff is happening.

Audio

Lovely music. Typical Konami stuff and comparable to Sparkster for SNES, just with the inferior Genesis sounds. Mostly chiptune sounds which are nice.
However the sound effects are abysmal. Ruins what would otherwise be a solid 4.
The sounds of your normal attack literally sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard.
