Gameplay

Run (slowly) and throw your boomerang or axe at enemies.
80% draw distance give you plenty of time to react, unless you have to stop and turn around.
Weapon is very slow making it somewhat difficult to hit your target. Only three weapons can be on screen at a time so timing is important.
Health slowly dwindles so collect fruit to replenish it as you go, although it's not a big deal. The platforms and enemies are placed such that you have to speedrun the game no matter what.
One-hit kills are the only thing that gives the game challenge.
Controls are very floaty which isn't a big deal unless you stop or miss a platform.
You can throw up which comes into play when you fight bosses.
You've got a super jump which requires you to press Down+Jump which is downright strange and takes some getting used to.

Level Design

Nice and simple platforming.
Most levels are very short and all are purely linear affairs.
Each level has a different theme, like a cave or a beach or a a Dr. Suess-style forest.

Theme

Has a Joe & Mac feel to it, minus the dinosaurs.
Pretty standard damsel-in-distress story.
Very lighthearted, cutesy feel.

Art Style

Very impressive for an early SNES title. Big sprites with good animation. Mode 7 effects and interesting backgrounds. Simple but nice.

Audio

Decent music but nothing memorable
