Gameplay

I HATE how Toad moves. I get that there are four different buttons to do different things and that this adds some complexity to a genre that has a lot of variety, but this takes a bit too far. I just feel like I know what I want to do but have no idea how to make it happen. It's just frustrating, plain and simple.

Level Design

The same modes that all these games have. Vs, story, and an endless mode called Time Race here. Has a long Lesson section which is necessary because the controls are so involved.

Typical Nintendo trappings. Simple when compared to something like Tetris Attack tho

Includes an unbelievably annoying weight system, limiting both what you can carry and what your character can use as a weapon. If you’re overloaded, you are unable to move. After buying a few things at the weapons shop I thought the game was broken. I had to Google it and read about this weight mechanic. So stupid. It makes the game nigh unplayable. Even with a minimal inventory of a knife, a helm, and two food rations I could barely walk.
