Gameplay

Some great ideas which are unfortunately, poorly implemented. You can move around a grid and must plan all attacks before ending your turn. The enemy does the same but you can't see what they've picked so it's a crapshoot whether or not your actions will hit. I suspect this was an inspiration for Into the Breach. Being able to see your opponents moves would've greatly improved this title. Ultimately, the grid movement and targeted attacks mean that many attacks don't hit which significantly prolongs battles.
You can customize your mechs between stages, but not on the fly like in other RPGs.

Level Design

Missions are short and simple. You jump between solar systems and planets to find your way between missions. It's certainly novel, even if the actual areas are simplistic.

Theme

This is the Star Trek game I wish they had created! It has a lot of the mechanics from athe Star Trek Bridge Simulator, but also with a decent JRPG to go with it. It looks like Phantasy Star, plays like Star Trek TNG, and feels like Into the Breach. Plus, mechs!

Art Style

Ugh, it's ugly. The mech designs aren't bad, but everything else is 8-bit at best.

Audio

Terrible music. The battle theme is particularly awful. Not every track is awful but most are.
