Daikaijuu Monogatari 2
Let's kick some more shellGenre: rpg - japanese
Publisher: Hudson Soft
Year: 1996
System: SFC
Gameplay Score: 4
Gameplay Notes:
Major improvements over the original. This has all the modern retro features you could ask for, plus a much more balanced leveling system than the first game. Way less grinding required.
Level Design Score: 4

Theme Score: 3
Theme Notes:
The 45-minute long intro is a massive drag, but luckily you only have to do that once. The story is always in the forefront of the game, however. This si a VERY text-heavy experience. It's interesting, for certain, but man is it a lot of exposition. The setting is still weird, but this time the protagonist has a personality and background. You're a kid warped from the real world. Kind of fun. It's not my favorite, but it'll do.
Art Style Score: 5
Art Style Notes:
Fantastic pixel artwork. On par with some of the best games in the genre.
Audio Score: 4
Audio Notes:
Love the music, although it's not anywhere near the heights of the Square titles. Good stuff though.
Overall Score: 81
