Gameplay

Same great gameplay, but with a ton of slowdown. It's not wonder because the screen gets absolutely filled with sprites that are scaling and swarming. Difficulty is ramped up significantly too.

Level Design

I liked the levels less than those in the original. Most are plays on the same theme, so they invite direct comparispn. Things that were novel in the first game are slightly overdone in this one. Still good, but more of an echo than an exclamation.

Crazy sauce. Leans into the sexy elements.

Insane artwork. Konami at its peak of creativity.

After buying a few things at the weapons shop I thought the game was broken. I had to Google it and read about this weight mechanic. So stupid. It makes the game nigh unplayable. Even with a minimal inventory of a knife, a helm, and two food rations I could barely walk.
