Formula One World Championship - Beyond the Limit

Why no map?

Genre: racing - simulation

Publisher: Sega

Year: 1994

System: Sega CD

Gameplay Score: 3

Gameplay Notes:

Choppy framerate, but otherwise great control. Making turns, braking, speed control. All great...but at the end of the day it's still an F1 racing game. Also, I wish the map were on screen. It's available from the pause screen, but come on, put it on screen!

Level Design Score: 1

Level Design Notes:

I hate hate hate these F1 racing games. Finishing lap after lap before even qualifying for a stupid race is beyond the pale. Just let me race, for crying out loud.

Theme Score: 3

Theme Notes:

Much better presentation than most of these games.

Art Style Score: 4

Art Style Notes:

Incredible for a 16-bit title. Choppy framerate though.

Audio Score: 3

Audio Notes:

Nothing but engine noise, but it's fantastic.

Overall Score: 52
