Masked Rider, The - Kamen Rider ZO
A Power Ranger, bugs, and QTEsGenre: fmv - n/a
Publisher: Sega
Year: 1994
System: Sega CD
Gameplay Score: 1
Gameplay Notes:
Follows in the footsteps of Dragon's Lair, with you needing to press a direction or button to continue watching the movie. Miss one and you take damage. Too much damage and you get a game over. I like that there's some leeway here. Still, at the end of the day, it's just a terrible movie that requires quick reflexes to get through the whole thing. The FMV era was a dumb time to live. Then again, the QTE era is still up on us in the mid 2020s.

Theme Notes:
Power Rangers before it was cool. I don't know the lore for this silly sci-fi Japanese show, but you appear to be an extraterrestrial bug merged with a human host to create an Ultraman wannabe. Your mission is to protect a young human kid from a cyborg alien bug. Or something. Martial arts ensue.
Art Style Score: 1
Art Style Notes:
Screen is letterboxed with a large border. Not as big as Sewer Shark, but sizable. The action moves faster than the frame rate can keep up with. The show you're watching is action packed and fast paced.
Audio Score: 1
Audio Notes:
Tons of distortion and garbage in the audio. Horrendous voice acting. For example, the very first scene has three kids, wmtwo which are very obviously voiced by two grown men trying to talk like a kindergartner. Oh and it's all dumb Ed so it looks and sounds even worse than the worst 70s kung fu films. That said, the music and sounds are frenetic and impactful, so props for trying.
