Panic! for Sega CD

Panic!

Backrooms for toddlers

Genre: adventure - point n click

Publisher: Data East

Year: 1994

System: Sega CD

Gameplay Score: 1

Gameplay Notes:

The best description I can come up with for this game is that it's WarioWare, minus any semblance of gameplay. Instead, you're given a set of 5-15 buttons to choose from. Most play a short video or animation, but a few will send you to the next screen with its own set of buttons. That's the long and short of it, and the extent of its "gameplay loop". And yes, those are air quotes.

Level Design Score: 1

Level Design Notes:

This isn't a video game, so much as Backrooms for toddlers. Pressing random buttons leads you in an endless loop of animations.

Theme Score: 1

Theme Notes:

Completely random nonsense. I don't mind a little of this but this thing is nothing but.

Art Style Score: 3

Art Style Notes:

A mix of WarioWare with Family Dog. The animation is cartoon worthy but not my speed.

Audio Score: 3
