Gameplay

Horrible mechanics but simultaneously very playable.
No ability to move laterally. Or vertically.
Best strategy is to call a pass play, hike the ball, wait for a receiver to get open and throw it long. The opponent never puts pressure on your QB so its easy to march down the field.
I appreciate that this is a game that one could completely master. That's the mark of a good video game imo. True simulation is just frustrating
Running the ball is impossible because your hit box is huge and an opponent need only touch you to knock you back 3 yards. Oh and there's no forward progress so where you land is where the ball is placed.
Mash B when running to slightly increase speed.
Using a Power Pass or Run is hilarious fun if you've got a turbo controller.
No such thing as pass interference. Just knock a receiver on his butt and it'll be an incomplete pass.
I love how the end zone looks like a normal 10 yard depth but your players never go more than a foot into it.

Level Design

Only season and pre-season modes.
No frills

Theme

Laughably bad presentation. You can tell they wanted to do something with the license but it just amounts to a few sound bites from Al Michaels and a terrible replay that is triggered by a 30+ yard play that doesn't result in a TD.
Again, so bad it's good

Art Style

Player sprites are tiny when compared to the enormous field.
Everything moves stupid slow and features some of the worst animation you'll ever see.
Horrible mode 7 effects

Audio

Sounds effects and sound bites are again so bad they're good.
