Adventures of Kid Kleetz

If Steve Rogers fought Hydra with a soccer ball

Genre: action - platform

Publisher: Ocean

Year: 1994

System: SNES

Gameplay Score: 0

Gameplay Notes:

The only way to attack is kicking a soccer ball which has realistic physics. Yeah, realistic. i.e. you have to chase after it after kicking it. So uncool. Might as well not have the ball but at least let me bop enemies. Can't get past the first 3 enemies. Jumping and platforming is otherwise ok, but game is pretty much unplayable Enemies move quickly and have enormous hit boxes and are impossible to avoid Enemies throw unavoidable projectiles

Level Design Score: 2

Level Design Notes:

Hard to discern what is a platform

Theme Score: 0

Theme Notes:

Terrible, terrible concept - basically it's Capt America if his shield doesn't return to him and he was still an 89lb weakling. Soccer sucks, and a soccer ball should not be your only means of attack in a video game.

Art Style Score: 3

Art Style Notes:

Very simple graphics. Flat backgrounds, no parallax Some cute animations and sprites

Audio Score: 2

Audio Notes:

Music is extremely peppy. Almost like a western ho-down

Overall Score: 20

Review ID: 14
