Alien vs. Predator

Two franchises that have been utterly destroyed by modern Hollywood

Gameplay

Enemies have the dumbest attack patterns. After being knocked down they jump and attack as they stand up so you can just position yourself away and attack where they will be.
You take damage if you so much as touch an enemy. They just have to walk into you.
Hit detection is atrocious. Enemy attacks have a reach that far exceeds what happens on screen.
Can't pick up health while holding a weapon so you have to quickly use up the ammo.
Facehuggers are virtually unhittable. They're too low to hit and jump too close to get them. These tiny stupid things absolutely wreck you. I can't get past them.

Level Design

No structure, just a boring corridor with successive waves of 2 enemies each.

Theme

AvP is the dream sci-fi matchup. At least it was before Hollywood puked out a few horrible movies with the name.

Art Style

Pitiful. Not only are the sprites ugly and poorly drawn but they have almost no frames of animation. Everything is an ugly shade of brown. Some of the most disappointing graphics on the system, especially when compared to the Capcom arcade game of the same name.

Audio

The song is unnecessarily upbeat given the grim setting. It sounds more like a track for Super Off-Road than for AvP.
The sound effects are laughably bad with nasty squirting sounds when an enemy dies and the dumbest jumping and pause sounds ever.
