Number 5...is aliveGenre: action - gun
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Year: 1993
System: Genesis
Gameplay Score: 3
Gameplay Notes:
Cheap unavoidable enemies, long stun animation after fall damage Momentum issues when starting and stopping. 40% draw distance so you move along slowly. Very short jump. Limited ammo. Oppressive time limit. No hitboxes and no i-frames either. Laggy controls compared to the SNES version
Level Design Score: 2
Level Design Notes:
Typical western stuff with long hallways and short ceilings. Like shooting up a hospital Not terrible but uninspired and forgettable.
Theme Score: 3
Theme Notes:
Goofy looking robot with a gun. Welp, ok
Art Style Score: 3
Art Style Notes:
Cartoony graphics are actually quite pleasant Nice animations and interesting details Animation, colors, and resolution feels like a step back from the SNES version.
Audio Score: 2
Audio Notes:
Music is absolutely grating (all percussion) Too loud sound effects, if they exist at all. For example no sound plays when you die. It feels like the sound was forgotten or was axed from the game. Major step down from the SNES version
Overall Score: 53
