Bravoman

Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!

Genre: action - punch n kick

Publisher: NEC

Year: 1990

System: TurboGrafx-16

Gameplay Score: 2

Gameplay Notes:

Awkward movement and attack. The sidescroller sections have ok platforming but your jump is insanely high and the the camera doesn't track well. It keeps you at the very bottom left of the screen. Attack is a long stretch punch that is variable by how long you hold the button. You stop midair or otherwise pause completely while attacking. Enemies are weird and move incredibly slowly. Shooter levels play much better but they're uninteresting.

Level Design Score: 2

Level Design Notes:

Very boring

Theme Score: 1

Theme Notes:

Very strange. No idea what's going on here. There's an evil looking clown bad guy who gives a little exposition between levels while...umm... vigorously playing with his wand.

Art Style Score: 3

Art Style Notes:

Weird, small, poorly designed sprites. Backgrounds are simple but colorful. Nice effects.

Audio Score: 1

Audio Notes:

Music is...ok. Sounds, on the other hand, are unbearable. Hearing our hero yell Bravo every second or two gets old real quick

Overall Score: 39
