Capcom's Soccer Shootout for SNES
Review #503
Capcom's Soccer Shootout
The best SNES soccer title
Gameplay
This came out of nowhere.
Very arcadey, fast gameplay.
Decent controls and, most importantly, the ball goes where you tell it to go. Thank goodness
Simple shoot and pass controls.
Lots of randomness, like the power and height of your kick and sometimes your guy automatically dodges a tackle or whatever. I like that I don't have to make everything happen, but I don't like when I'm on a breakaway and go in for a shot only to tap the ball like I'm a 9 year old.
Level Design
Has all the standard modes PLUS AN INDOOR MODE! This makes the game so much more playable and fun because there's no break in the action. So good.
Theme
I hate soccer
Art Style
Sprites are very small but animate well and the animations themselves are mercifully short which allows the gameplay to flow nicely. Basic but nice.
Audio
In-game music that gets really old really quick
