Gameplay

Exact same gameplay as the NES original, but with a slightly faster speed and stickier tires. Still fun for a few minutes of play. However, just like the original, the difficulty ramps up after only a few races and then I wish you luck.
Rock & Roll Racing has too few road hazards while this one has too many. Too bad they couldn't compromise.

Level Design

Well designed tracks with lots of hazards, collectables, and features like boost pads and weapons. I only wish there were modes other than the one-and-only career mode. Again, this is a fun game to jump into for a few minutes but I wouldn't make a career out of it.

Theme

Maybe this is nostalgia speaking, but I love minimalist presentation for this sort of racing game. It knows it's an arcade-like experience so it gets out of your way as much as possible.

Art Style

They're prettied up a little bit, but these are ultimately NES graphics. Fun but simple.

Audio

The squeeling of the tires is present. The little fanfare that plays after laps and courses is sort of there. Overall it's fine, but not impressive or even memorable. Again, as a port this is more or less an echo of the game you remember from your childhood.
