Cyborg Justice
Real Steel the video gameGenre: action - beat em up
Publisher: Sega
Year: 1993
System: Genesis
Gameplay Score: 2
Gameplay Notes:
There's a decent combat engine here. Your main attack is a weak punch with B. Landing three in a row stuns the enemy at which point you can use A+direction to launch a powerful attack. However, hit detection is horrible so your big attack only hits half of the time. The most reliable way to progress is to use the weak attack over and over. This takes forever and is incredibly boring but it works reliably. You also have a jump kick.
Level Design Score: 0
Level Design Notes:
Terrible level design. Just go right and fight one enemy at a time. It's essentially a series of 1v1 battles. Every couple of screens have one of two environmental hazards. Soooo boring. Once a fight ends you can't leave the screen until the enemy explodes. This can take 10 seconds. You just have to wait there.
Theme Score: 3
Theme Notes:
You're a cyborg who is rebelling against your programming. Kind of cool setting.
Art Style Score: 4
Art Style Notes:
Impressive sprites and animation. The environments are well drawn but are boring. There's no animation or interesting features
Audio Score: 1
Audio Notes:
Typical hard rock music composed of exactly one sound. Yuck
