Drop Off for TurboGrafx-16

Drop Off

Bubble Bobble meets Arkanoid

Genre: arcade - n/a

Publisher: NEC

Year: 1990

System: TurboGrafx-16

Gameplay Score: 2

Gameplay Notes:

A tiny ball bounces around and you can reflect it back Arkanoid-style. The fruit blocks descend like in Bust-a-Move. The problem is that your paddle is teeny tiny so reflecting the ball is insanely difficult. Unreliable, at least. It's mildly interesting but ultimately feels like a game of chance not skill.

Level Design Score: 2

Level Design Notes:

Every level is the same, just with some cosmetic changes.

Theme Score: 2

Theme Notes:

You're on a quest to save your girlfriend who is trapped in a nightmare. You do this by knocking down columns of fruit? Uhh, ok

Art Style Score: 1

Art Style Notes:

Nothing to see here

Audio Score: 0

Audio Notes:

Super obnoxious sound and "music". Nope

Overall Score: 34

Review ID: 1456
