Dynamite Headdy for Genesis

Dynamite Headdy

Sega's answer to Kirby

Genre: action - platform

Publisher: Sega

Year: 1994

System: Genesis

Gameplay Score: 4

Gameplay Notes:

Typical Treasure goodness. Nice movement. Gimmick is that you throw your head to attack and at certain points you can swap your head to gain a special ability. Many of these are terrible so it's a mixed bag. Still, it's novel and fun. Reminds me of Kirby.

Level Design Score: 5

Level Design Notes:

Well crafted levels that take advantage of the games for mechanic. Good stuff

Theme Score: 3

Theme Notes:

More eclectic than most Treasure games. I'm not really sure what's going on and the character designs are weird. Just, not very appealing.

Art Style Score: 4

Art Style Notes:

It's not my favorite characters but the graphics are undeniably well made.

Audio Score: 3

Audio Notes:

Music is a mixed bag. Some songs are nice while others can go away. The sounds are too loud

Overall Score: 82

Review ID: 886
