Flintstones for Genesis

Image: MobyGames

Flintstones

SNES wins this round

Genre: action - platform

Publisher: Taito

Year: 1993

System: Genesis

Gameplay Score: 3

Gameplay Notes:

One attack - club Decent controls but extremely floaty. Basic platforming. Rules keep changing on you. Not obvious what to do and hit detection is not good for things like grabbing and climbing a ledge or attacks.

Level Design Score: 2

Level Design Notes:

Only a handful of levels. They're sparse but interesting. Two are straight up platforming but then a swimming (think a very slow SMB water level) and an auto scroller on a train (like a boring version of the level from Buster Busts Loose on SNES).

Theme Score: 4

Theme Notes:

Its a cartoon and looks and feels like it. Each level is introduced with a short cutscene. Fun stuff, especially Bedrock and Yabba Dabba Do having a trademark

Art Style Score: 3

Art Style Notes:

Simple but authentic sprites. Simple backgrounds. Slows does a ton when multiple sprites are on screen

Audio Score: 3

Audio Notes:

Chirpy. Silly and fun but also grating sounds.

Overall Score: 56

Review ID: 926
