Gadget Twins for Genesis

Gadget Twins

Go go Gadget punch

Genre: shooter - horizontal

Publisher: GameTek

Year: 1992

System: Genesis

Gameplay Score: 0

Gameplay Notes:

This is a stupid concept. You're an airplane whose only offensive capability is to punch. Yeah. A punches and B toggles the direction you will punch (up, right, down, left). It only moves in one direction (clockwise), unlike Forgotten Worlds which let you rotate either direction. The punch has reach of about half your ship and a long animation. This makes it ridiculously hard to hit anything. Enemies have no hitbox and deal damage on every frame when touching you.

Level Design Score: 1

Level Design Notes:

Who cares? The gameplay is so awful here I don't want to see more. But fine, it's worth mentioning that instead of scrolling to the right the screen pans left, right, up, down and unexpectedly which makes it even easier to run into enemies since they pan with the screen. The same enemy spawns over and over. Nothing interesting aside from the end level boss

Theme Score: 1

Theme Notes:

Obviously heard toward kids but this game is stupid hard. All worried look like they were pulled from a Richard Scarry book. Cute but this makes me even more frustrated.

Art Style Score: 3

Art Style Notes:

Impressive parallax scrolling. Amiga artwork with crazy amounts of sharing.

Audio Score: 1

Audio Notes:

Dorky music and sounds.

Overall Score: 14
