Gameplay

More in common with Smash TV than Raiden. You're a grounded tank that can point and shoot in 16 directions. B button locks turret in place so you can strafe.
Objective is to destroy all targets on a large map and defeating a boss.
Controls are annoying initially (wish it was dual stick) but it's manageable.

Level Design

Good variety in levels. The first is a generic looking city with streets and buildings but the second is on the back of an airplane like in Chrono Trigger.

Generic shooter motif, but you're a grounded vehicle like Jackal.

Art Style

Very simple, low rez. All sprites are quite small which makes for very small hitboxes.

Includes an unbelievably annoying weight system, limiting both what you can carry and what your character can use as a weapon. If you’re overloaded, you are unable to move. After buying a few things at the weapons shop I thought the game was broken. I had to Google it and read about this weight mechanic. So stupid. It makes the game nigh unplayable. Even with a minimal inventory of a knife, a helm, and two food rations I could barely walk.
