Gameplay
The worst implementation of a Bionic Commando grappling arm ever. The hot detection is horrible and it only grabs a few blocks. When it retracts it throws you upward but inconsistently so it's horrible for platforming which is necessary in many spots. Not fun.
Enemies are stunned very briefly by bopping or hitting with the grappling arm. They take 5 or more hits for some strange reason.
Everything from platforms to enemies have an uneven surface so you slide or careen off them in unpredictable arcs. As if the controls weren't slippery enough this mechanic makes the game barely playable.
Level Design
Typical Western dev stuff. There are a handful of enemies and a couple of platforms and obstacles that are simply related in slightly different arrangements, over and over and over again.
Monotony sets in almost immediately.
You can collect two colors of balloons but there's absolutely no point to collecting. This negates any desire to explore the upper reaches of the map which is chock full of blind jumps. Best to stay at the bottom and just get to the end. Yawn
Theme
You're Goofy who has an Inspector Gadget style mechanical arm grabber thing. The opening cutscene has you working at a museum as a janitor but once the game starts you're jumping around a jungle fighting enormous snails, mushrooms, and invincible frogs while popping balloons. Uhhh... what is going on here?
Art Style
At first glance you think, oh it's one of those nice looking Disney games. But then you start moving and realize how choppy the animation is and how boring the background and foreground is. It's not much better than a THQ licensed title.
Audio
Horrible music. The same track plays in the first 4 levels. It's a loud best with the standard Genesis guitar sound played over and over. Hideous.
Another track appears later which isn't as bad.
