Hurricanes
Aww, Kid Kleetz is all growed upGenre: action - platform
Publisher: US Gold
Year: 1994
System: SNES
Gameplay Score: 3
Gameplay Notes:
Attack by kicking a soccer ball, but unlike in Kid Kleetz the ball comes back to you which makes it a viable weapon. Click A to kick it along the ground about 25% of the screen. Y kicks it up in the air away slightly away from yourself and just above your head. Y does a long windup and kicks across 50% of screen. X and Y are pretty much useless. Can kick while jumping Platforming is tough because there's a super long Wiley Coyote animation where you walk off the cliff and gravity waits for you to realize you're not on the ground anymore. Terribly annoying Draw distance issue as enemies move very quickly and swarm to you Power ups, health drops, and collectables are in crates that can be broken. Sometimes enemies pop out and deal unavoidable damage. Kind of dumb
Level Design Score: 3
Level Design Notes:
Typical platforming - go right through the three-platform high tunnel. Can drop down from higher ledges which is nice Some too-long jumps to make Really bad autoscroller section riding on back of a turtle while piranhas attack. Yeah, piranhas live in Spain according to this game

Art Style Notes:
Lovely sprites and platform graphics Realistic sprites conflict with the cartoony animations Outdoor setting is nice and bright and pleasant
Audio Score: 3
Audio Notes:
Seems out of place. I don't know what "soccer music" sounds like, but a bunch of brass instruments doesn't scream futbol to me. Sound effects are pleasant
