Image: MobyGames

Ka-blooey

Bomberman with Mr. Potato Head

Genre: puzzle - overhead

Publisher: Kemko

Year: 1992

System: SNES

Gameplay Score: 2

Gameplay Notes:

Can't see much of the screen Awkward controls. Press and hold X for 3 seconds to set a bomb to explode when you leave the tile. Bombs have different blast radiuses bit they're all red so it's hard to tell what the radius of a given ball is. Lots of trial and error is required to solve puzzles or even to see what a feature on a tile will do. Very choppy with a ton of slowdown Press Start to see the board but you're soft locked when you press Start again. Maybe it's a bug with the emulator?

Level Design Score: 2

Level Design Notes:

Difficulty ramps up almost immediately. Very steep learning curve. Interesting puzzles but overly difficult imo

Theme Score: 1

Theme Notes:

Ugly world. You're Humpty Dumpty and you're making red balls explode. Weird setting

Art Style Score: 1

Art Style Notes:

Low framerate. Tons of slowdown Nightmarish character model

Audio Score: 1

Audio Notes:

Bizzare music with a lady using her best sultry voice to "Get ready". Umm, ok
