Lamborghini American Challenge
16-bit Cruis'n USAGenre: racing - arcade
Publisher: Titus
Year: 1993
System: SNES
Gameplay Score: 3
Gameplay Notes:
Plays a bit like Cruis'n. You start out near the back of the pack and have to pass all your rivals before the track ends. No laps to worry about. Ultimately the gameplay is shallow because it's just a series of long left and right turns going forward into the screen. You avoid other cars and that's about it. I like how forgiving it is, but again, it's shallow as a result. Decent arcade racing title, but gets boring after long. No slowdown
Level Design Score: 3
Level Design Notes:
The first level has you making a rather tight left turn for more than a full minute. Is this track a circle?
Theme Score: 4
Theme Notes:
Road Rash with Lamborghinis. You're racing across the country against a long list of rival drivers who each have a Street Fighter style headshots but everyone drives the same red car.
Art Style Score: 3
Art Style Notes:
Sideways scrolling background is nauseating. There are huge mountains in the background in every race, even in Houston. Uhh, geography guys Draw distance is short
Audio Score: 1
Audio Notes:
Awful, grating music. Mute this one
