Gameplay

Objective is to return an object that is important to a historical figure - Newton's apples, Jon of Arc's shield, Mozart's sheet music, etc. This is done by filling in blank spaces on a worksheet. Basically its Mad Libs with multiple choice.
Controls are awkward. The combination of buttons to press is bizarre. Took me 5 minutes of experimenting to discover how to pick an item (stand on it and press X), then R to open the worksheet, X to open thee drop down and A to select an option. This pattern of one button to open and another to choose or close is repeated all over with different button combos. Its unbelievably confusing.
There's nothing else to do except a stupid surfing mini game when you time travel where you have to pick up 10 mushrooms before diving into any whirlpool. Bizarre, pointless, and just adds some time to the game I think.

Level Design

If you've seen one level you've seen them all.

Theme

Like Mario is Missing it has Mario sprites but has all the charm of a textbook.

Art Style

Ugly artwork all around. Looks like an early DOS game
