Mark Davis the Fishing Master for SNES

Mark Davis the Fishing Master

Fishing Master...is that an accredited title?

Genre: sports - fishing

Publisher: Natsume

Year: 1996

System: SNES

Gameplay Score: 0

Gameplay Notes:

Plays a bit like Bass Masters Classic, with a lot of complexity about picking the right lure and rod plus the massive RNG for actually finding, hooking, and reeling in a fish. Me no likey the complexity. No ability to drive your boat around, instead you menu to pick a spot to cast from. This makes it impossible to know where fish are. The other games let you use a depth finder which shows you if there are fish.

Level Design Score: 1

Level Design Notes:

There are about 120 spots to cast from. They are visually different but I don't know if there's any meaningful difference. Also, it's just a lake. Other games have a practice settings but this one doesn't.

Theme Score: 0

Theme Notes:

Uggh, another fishing game. Make it stop

Art Style Score: 1

Art Style Notes:

Just a bunch of still images. No animation whatsoever.

Audio Score: 2

Audio Notes:

More normal music which plays throughout the game. No more hillbilly twang here.

Overall Score: 11

Review ID: 318
