Might and Magic II: Gates to Another World
Genre: rpg - dungeon
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Year: 1991
System: Genesis
Gameplay Score: 1
Gameplay Notes:
On screen map is super helpful, but would be nice if it showed you where you've been. Same old turn-based dungeon crawler formula. At least this one doesn't use the awful mouse cursor like some of the SNES titles. Good for this sort of game, but I cannot stand dungeon crawlers. Get away from me.
Level Design Score: 0
Level Design Notes:
There's a design? It's just an endless hallway with random battles. No thanks.
Theme Score: 1
Theme Notes:
Has a tiny bit of personality in the NPCs and enemies, but your party don't even get mug shots. As bland as can be.
Art Style Score: 2
Art Style Notes:
No animation other than the enemy sprites. Looks pretty good for this sort of game.
Audio Score: 1
Audio Notes:
Music is someone going nuts on a harpsichord. I didn't mind it for a couple of minutes but then it got on every one of my nerves. Sounds are way too loud and mostly just sound like dropping a big box on a hard surface. Nothing special or interesting. I think I'd prefer silence.
