Minnesota Fats: Pool Legend
Demo mode onlyGenre: sports - pool
Publisher: Data East
Year: 1995
System: Genesis
Gameplay Score: 1
Gameplay Notes:
Even on Easy the computer does not miss. It also takes 10-30 seconds to think about what shoot to take which slows the game down a ton. So yeah, most games are you shooting once and then watching for 8 minutes while the computer clears the table. Yeah no thanks. No way to make the game easier. You just get your cursor and had better be a billiards savant.
Level Design Score: 1
Level Design Notes:
No freeplay option. You always have to play against another player.
Theme Score: 3
Theme Notes:
Your opponent constantly talks to you between shots. You see their avatar and slash a little animation showing them as they shoot. It's a touch of personality anyway.
Art Style Score: 2
Art Style Notes:
Much better than Championship Pool. The balls are bigger and animate as they move. There's a HUD with the shot power meter and a few other things.
Audio Score: 2
Audio Notes:
Initially I hated the elevator music but it grew on me. It dynamically switches based on what's happening in game.
