Mohawk and Headphone Jack

Gameplay

Kind of a Sonic clone.
Before starting, click Pause and turn Off the "Lookahead" setting. Your stomach with thank me. Keep a doggy bag handy if you insist on keeping it turned On.
Run to the right and hit X or Y to spin. This makes you invulnerable and allows you to attack enemies.
The few times you jump are to either collect the game's currency, CDs, further cementing the homage to Sonic.
The gameplay itself is interesting. You don't move your player so much as you move the platform around him. The closest parallel I can come up with is Uniracers or On the Ball.

Level Design

Levels basically amount to running right and mashing the spin button. Level two includes a vertical section that doesn't add much and highlights the bad controls and platforming.

Theme

I'm not much of a rock fan but whoever had the fever dream which led to the creation of this game was obviously a dead head. Ultimately I don't think anything about the game's theme, from the character to the soundtrack, has not aged well and truthfully was never going to appeal to a large audience.

Art Style

The Mohawk Jack, our titular character, is ugly as sin but I'd go as far as to say he's positively unnerving. The best description I could give of him is that he's a yellow-skinned man running around wearing nothing but sunglasses, a head-to-butt mohawk, and a Walkman. This game was a result of a fever dream but this character is truly the stuff of nightmares. Imagine playing Uniracers as the yellow pedophile from Sin City.

Audio

The same 10 notes played over and over and over and over. For an ostensibly music-themed game you'd expect a much more impressive OST.
