MLBPA Baseball for SNES

Image: MobyGames

MLBPA Baseball

The only EA Sports title without a number

Genre: sports - baseball

Publisher: Elec Arts

Year: 1994

System: SNES

Gameplay Score: 4

Gameplay Notes:

Plays great. fast games without long breaks between pitches or hitters. Mostly smooth transition between hitting and fielding although it's fast so hard to catch a hard hit ball. The ball travels fairly quickly so it's hard to leg out a double even when you hit the ball into the gap or down the line.

Level Design Score: 3

Level Design Notes:

Exhibition, season, and world series modes

Theme Score: 3

Theme Notes:

MLBPA but no MLB license Presentation is excellent, as is typical of EA Sports titles

Art Style Score: 3

Art Style Notes:

Very nice artwork Character models look like slightly cartoony but are mostly realistic. Players have minimal animation Players don't have the right stances, like Griffey who is hunched over like he's Rickey Henderson.

Audio Score: 4

Audio Notes:

Great sound. Short riffs play when a player comes to the plate and whatnot.

Overall Score: 72
