Gameplay

Plays like a true sequel to Neutopia rather than an evolution like Link to the Past is to LoZ. This title includes 8 directional movement but no other improvements.
Still, the foundation was already good.
I only wish the the sword attack was a slash instead of a stab. Oh well.

Level Design

The level design continues to be pedestrian. The overworld is particularly flawed, with dead ends and gated spots. The Zelda overworld has memorable landmarks and every screen has a purpose but here it all seems to be filler.

Theme

Thankfully you can name your hero this time around. It's a typical "your dad is missing" setup but hey, it works.

Art Style

Vast improvement on the original but still fairly simple. The animation is good and everything has a bright and cheery look that I enjoy.

Lovely music and sound effects.

Includes an unbelievably annoying weight system, limiting both what you can carry and what your character can use as a weapon. If you’re overloaded, you are unable to move. After buying a few things at the weapons shop I thought the game was broken. I had to Google it and read about this weight mechanic. So stupid. It makes the game nigh unplayable. Even with a minimal inventory of a knife, a helm, and two food rations I could barely walk.
