Pink Goes to Hollywood

Come for the music. Leave for everything else

Genre: action - platform

Publisher: TecMagik

Year: 1993

System: SNES

Gameplay Score: 1

Gameplay Notes:

Incredibly floaty controls. As bad as the Bugs Bunny game. Take it slow and you'll do ok, not great. 40% draw distance All the usual western dev stuff Attack by bop, using a pink gas squirt gun, or using a "trick" by pressing Select. There are several tricks and the one you use is random and I couldn't get any of them to connect with an enemy so I'm not sure they're even offensive weapons. I'm guessing you're supposed to collect stuff to open the exitbut I could never find that thing and was not able to complete a level.

Level Design Score: 1

Level Design Notes:

Aimless level design. No idea what to do. Levels are themed after movies (tons of licenses games do this) Off screen enemies hurl projectiles mercilessly. Enormous square levels filled with platforms and paths which go nowhere.

Theme Score: 2

Theme Notes:

Pink Panther is cool I guess

Art Style Score: 3

Art Style Notes:

Pretty sprites Colorful Easy to discern platforms for the most part

Audio Score: 4

Audio Notes:

Actually quite good music and sound. I was expecting to hear nothing but the PP theme but there's a nice variety of tunes including some that weave the theme into the composition.

Overall Score: 31

Review ID: 419
