Gameplay

Sail around the Caribbean in an overhead view. Controls are laggy but not terrible.
Naval battles use same view and control as navigation with very laggy and infrequent gum shots. It would've been nice to know when you can shoot instead of having to mash.
Deuling is similar to Prince of Persia. I don't get it.
Better than a sum of its parts. Fun experience.

Tons of things to do. I could see playing this all the way through.
A handful of historical scenarios plus an open world campaign.

Pirates of the Caribbean.
Cartoony presentation. Looks and feels playful.

Art Style

Minimal animation, except when walking around a town.
Great use of color and some details such as clouds and water. Menus look very grainy.
Attractive but not impressive.

Lovely pleasant music.
Sound effects are infrequent but equally nice on the ears.

Includes an unbelievably annoying weight system, limiting both what you can carry and what your character can use as a weapon. If you’re overloaded, you are unable to move. After buying a few things at the weapons shop I thought the game was broken. I had to Google it and read about this weight mechanic. So stupid. It makes the game nigh unplayable. Even with a minimal inventory of a knife, a helm, and two food rations I could barely walk.
