Pro Sport Hockey for SNES

Pro Sport Hockey

As opposed to Amateur Slacking-off Hockey?

Genre: sports - hockey

Publisher: Jaleco

Year: 1994

System: SNES

Gameplay Score: 1

Gameplay Notes:

Completely impossible to score. Every shot goes straight at the goalie. AI is stupidly reliable. Your teammates are never in the right spot. They religiously follow rules about crossing the blue and red lines and enemies swarm so Passing is also impossible since the animation is way too long. Checking is too easy. Horrible slowdown. Skating around is surprisingly fun. Just a shame the passing and shooting is so bad. No way to change players on defense and your teammates never check or even challenge opponents so they get a shot off pretty much every trip down the rink.

Level Design Score: 2

Level Design Notes:

Practice, Season, and Tourney modes.

Theme Score: 3

Theme Notes:

NHLPA license. I like the video game sounds and menus that aren't trying to hard. Reminds me of the Tecmo games.

Art Style Score: 3

Art Style Notes:

Nice sprites. The view is most top down which let's you see most of the rink. Good animation.

Audio Score: 3

Audio Notes:

Nice sounds.
