Relief Pitcher for SNES

Image: MobyGames

Relief Pitcher

The least important category of professional athletes. Other than WNBA player, of course

Genre: sports - baseball

Publisher: Left Field

Year: 1994

System: SNES

Gameplay Score: 1

Gameplay Notes:

Bizarre controls. Hitting has no strategy to it. Just swing. You can't move your player at all within the batter's box. Super easy to string together a whole bunch of hits. Pitching is done with a round meter like it's a golf swing. You have no control of the horizontal or vertical placement of the pitch. Fielding is also automatic so defense might as well be fully automated. Super boring

Level Design Score: 1

Level Design Notes:

Two modes - Starting Pitcher and Relief Pitcher. RP drops you into the 9th inning of a game. WTH?!

Theme Score: 0

Theme Notes:

This game is named for one of the least important category of professional athletes. Uhh Four whole teams.

Art Style Score: 0

Art Style Notes:

Ugly, grainy graphics. Two frame animations 2 FPS framerate

Audio Score: 3

Audio Notes:

Jack Buck's play-by-play is nice Crowd noise is ok

Overall Score: 21
