Streets of Rage 3

Quite possibly Yuzo Koshiro's worst work

Gameplay

Please almost identically to the previous game but at about twice the speed. You might think this would be a good thing but it actually makes the game far less enjoyable.
Hit detection is less reliable and even your moves don't as good. Not sure how to describe it exactly. For example I didn't grab enemies when I expected to. They got in cheap hits as I punched them. Weapons seemed to break while I used them. Just weird stuff like that.

It's still better than most beat them up games so it's not all bad.

Level Design

Better than average but the weird, fast enemy movement puts a damper on the enjoyment of the levels.

Theme

This one hasn't even weirder story than the previous games. There's now robots and futuristic looking technology. I guess it's less generic than the previous two games. It's just a fighting game.

Art Style

Looks about as good as the previous game. Although the backgrounds are far less interesting. The colors are more drab. Maybe that's the big difference. The sprite work is good, although again not as clean and attractive as the previous game.

Audio

Oh wow. The sound here is as bad as the previous games was good. The sound effects in particular are atrocious. The voice samples are terrible quality and play. After every death, The music is reduced to a loud beat. Using a simple set of sounds. It leans heavily into the EDM side of things. Massive disappointment here.
