Gameplay

Can't shoot straight up - only straight or 45 degree angle
Enemies shoot from offscreen so impossible to avoid shots
Controls are tight while grounded but become a crap-fest while jumping

Not much design to the level - just plod forward stopping to get bad guys off screen

Art Style

Not too shabby!
Everything looks same-y but the sprites are colorful and explosions are satisfying.
Stuff is happening in the background which gives some life to the level.

Audio

Unbearably hideous sound effects - shooting and jumping have same sound of a laser gun in a tin can.
Music is ok, with lots of percussion and metallic sound. Would've preferred the movie's soundtrack to be honest.

There's an optional Active Battle System and an innovative Single and Team techniques system. No grinding necessary. An assortment of sidequests and minigames like the actions you take at the Millennial Fair which influence how the trial plays out. One thing that I greatly appreciate is that you are never alone in a one-character party. You are joined by 3 other playable characters within the first hour of play.
