Gameplay

Turning is very forgiving. Not as forgiving as the SNES original but you only have to feather the gas to make it around very sharp turns.
Clever use of arrows along the side of the track which give you ample time to see upcoming turns. More racing games should do this.
Easy difficulty is very welcome. Difficult to pass but not impossible as the road is 3-4x wide. However opponents tend to drive directly in front of you so it's annoying to pass them.

Level Design

Fun tracks with mostly gradual turns. There are even tracks where you get some air.

Generic. Not much personality. But presented well

Full screen this time around. Great graphics. Performs extremely well.

Audio

No in-game music. Major letdown. I was expecting good things like the SNES version.

Includes an unbelievably annoying weight system, limiting both what you can carry and what your character can use as a weapon. If you’re overloaded, you are unable to move. After buying a few things at the weapons shop I thought the game was broken. I had to Google it and read about this weight mechanic. So stupid. It makes the game nigh unplayable. Even with a minimal inventory of a knife, a helm, and two food rations I could barely walk.
