Trouble Shooter

Genre: shooter - horizontal

Publisher: Vic Tokai

Year: 1992

System: Genesis

Gameplay Score: 2

Gameplay Notes:

Enormous sprites and massive hit boxes. No powerups. Nothing compelling in the gameplay. The gimmick is having a second character behind you who takes no damage but can be turned to shoot forward or backward. She moves painfully slowly so it's not much fun. Boring

Level Design Score: 2

Level Design Notes:

Levels are just go to the right very slowly. A coupe of interesting segments like descending down a shaft but these highlight the flaws in the gameplay more than anything.

Theme Score: 3

Theme Notes:

Goofy anime girls, but without much fan service. Very silly seeing, almost like a cute em up.

Art Style Score: 3

Art Style Notes:

Nice sprites and a good variety of enemies. Simple parallax scrolling and lots of variety. The limited color pallete holds back the visuals though.

Audio Score: 3

Audio Notes:

Decent songs with ugly Genesis sounds.

Overall Score: 45

Review ID: 1350
