Tuff E Nuff
Mad Max meets Street FighterGenre: fighting - 1v1
Publisher: Jaleco
Year: 1993
System: SNES
Gameplay Score: 3
Gameplay Notes:
Only four fighters and two are a palette swap. Has a replay feature each time a match ends. Four buttons - two punches and two kicks. The attacks have limited range but are distinct in that the strong ones are high while the weak one is lower. Some cool moves like a mid-air counter that let's you grab and smash a jumping opponent to the ground. It's impossible to chain together hits for something like a jump-in combo. So you wind up getting a hit then retreating, then getting a hit and retreating. Control is responsive.
Level Design Score: 3
Level Design Notes:
Boring arenas, although they have some scrolling in the background and on the ground. Otherwise they're devoid of animation. Story and versus modes
Theme Score: 4
Theme Notes:
The setting is a post apocalyptic future where four fighters seek to depose an evil king.
Art Style Score: 3
Art Style Notes:
The character models are boring but are very well drawn. All three of them. Animation is ok but not close to the level of the SF2 games.
Audio Score: 3
