Tuff E Nuff for SNES
Review #652
Tuff E Nuff
Mad Max meets Street Fighter
Gameplay
Only four fighters and two are a palette swap.
Has a replay feature each time a match ends.
Four buttons - two punches and two kicks. The attacks have limited range but are distinct in that the strong ones are high while the weak one is lower.
Some cool moves like a mid-air counter that let's you grab and smash a jumping opponent to the ground.
It's impossible to chain together hits for something like a jump-in combo. So you wind up getting a hit then retreating, then getting a hit and retreating.
Control is responsive.
Level Design
Boring arenas, although they have some scrolling in the background and on the ground. Otherwise they're devoid of animation.
Story and versus modes
Theme
The setting is a post apocalyptic future where four fighters seek to depose an evil king.
Art Style
The character models are boring but are very well drawn. All three of them. Animation is ok but not close to the level of the SF2 games.
Audio
Nice music
