Urban Strike

Much better than the SNES version

Gameplay

None of the problems present in the SNES version are here. The game performs beautifully and movement is better than in Jungle Strike. It's still the momentum based movement without the ability to strafe but at least it's not a dumpster fire like the SNES version.

Level Design

Ok props for keeping the same basic formula of the previous games. I guess. No improvements, refinements, or any changes to speak of, so I'm taking points away for laziness.

Theme

Even more edgy than the previous game. This time you're in 2001 trying to prevent an evil genius from using a secret weapon that is powerful enough to take down a skyscraper. Umm, did THQ predict 9-11?

Art Style

Mixed bag. The sprites look fantastic Your futuristic helicopter is really cool.
Effects such as explosions are...nasty. They look like a prerendered blob of various shades of orange.
The backgrounds look ok but they're as lifeless as ever. Could it have killed them to add some animation or something to look at?
The menus (where you'll spend a lot of time) are ugly.

Audio

Poor sound design all around. The title screen and briefing room music is an assault on the ears. The in game sounds are hilariously disconnected from the actions and often don't play for some reason. The incessant engine noise is annoying and none of the sounds are any good anyway. Explosions don't even make a sound most of the time. Just awful
Oh and do I even have to mention that the voice samples are garbled?
