Two player co-op
Gallery shooter like Cabal, Blood Bros, or NAM 1975
Dodge is the key to survival
Double jump
Gun powerups are frequent and very helpful
Could've used an alternative control scheme with movement via the d-pad and moving the cursor via the face buttons, but the one they choose works ok

Includes an unbelievably annoying weight system, limiting both what you can carry and what your character can use as a weapon. If you’re overloaded, you are unable to move. After buying a few things at the weapons shop I thought the game was broken. I had to Google it and read about this weight mechanic. So stupid. It makes the game nigh unplayable. Even with a minimal inventory of a knife, a helm, and two food rations I could barely walk. The game has a clock and calendar and it took me 12 game hours to walk from the Shop to the exit to attempt combat. By that...

There's an optional Active Battle System and an innovative Single and Team techniques system. No grinding necessary. An assortment of sidequests and minigames like the actions you take at the Millennial Fair which influence how the trial plays out. One thing that I greatly appreciate is that you are never alone in a one-character party. You are joined by 3 other playable characters within the first hour of play.
